Virginia G Drozdowicz

Virginia G Drozdowicz

The gentle spirit of Virginia G. Drozdowicz passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at the age of 87. A lifelong resident of Toledo, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and kind-hearted friend to all.
Virginia was born December 6, 1922 to Konstanty and Stella Mikulak. On August 30, 1945, she married Alfred H. Drozdowicz. She was a full time homemaker raising her six children. She then later entered the work force and made many friends at Cameo Industries where she worked for over 20 years.

Throughout her life, her family and many friends knew Virgie as a generous person who was always quick with a gift of her fabulous cakes or homemade Polish meals. Her homemade kluski noodles were exceptional and her passion for Bingo was legendary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers John, Mike, Frank and Bill Mikulak and her grandson, Andrew Drozdowicz.

Virgie is survived by her sisters Ann Heintschel, Helen Wojcicki and Frances West; her children, Michael (Dianne), Dennis, Don (Mary Jo), Sandy (Guy) Ingram, Larry (Kay) and Jim (Jeanene), seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service to celebrate Virginia’s life will be held on Saturday, February 13th, 12:30 pm, at the Queen of Peace Chapel, Lourdes College Campus, 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania, Ohio.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Manor at Perrysburg and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the quality healthcare and comfort they provided to Virginia. Online condolences may be shared below:

Entry: To the family of Virginia Drozdowicz: My grandmother (Catherine Bucior Stopa) was Rose Drozdowicz's sister and Alfred Drozdowicz's aunt. The news of Virginia's passing was the first I'd heard about that side of the family in many years, and I was so sorry to hear of it. Sounds like Virginia was a wonderful woman. My sincere condolences.
